Description:
It's hard to say which is more impressive here - the beautiful deer park or the house itself, which dates from the 15th century, and has not been altered since it was added to in the early 17th century.  It is famous for its connections with royalty, including Henry VIII, and also as the birthplace of Vita Sackville-West. Inside the house you will see some magnificent state beds, as well as a fine collection of paintings, including some by Van Dyck, Reynolds and Gainsborough.  Baby-carriers are available for use in the house (pushchairs are not admitted).  There is a children's trail to follow in the house.  Note that the Brewhouse tearoom has limited seating capacity indoors, and does get very busy at peak times.
