Description:
Find out what it was like to work and live in a lead mining community at Killhope Museum.  There are lots of hands on activities for children to get involved in - including dressing up in Victorian-style clothes. Note that children aged below 4 are not allowed on the underground tour, which we think is a sensible rule -  in our experience very young children don't enjoy being in that sort of environment.  Under 4s can enjoy all the above-ground activities, learning how the crystals were found, seeing how mining families lived and more, and there is a play area and sand pit for under 7s.  Take a stroll round the woodland paths, and become a nature detective with one of the Sam Squirrel backpacks available to borrow (leave money or car keys as returnable deposit).  Lunches and snacks are available at the Killhope Cafe, which has highchairs and baby changing.
