Step back in time a little to the age of steam
and enjoy the lovely Hampshire countryside along this 10-mile stretch of
preserved railway from Alresford to Alton (where you can connect to mainline
rail services). Trains also stop at Medstead & Four Marks and at
Ropley, where you can stop off and visit the engine yard. The Visitor
Centre at Alresford station houses an interesting display on the history of
the railway, and a shop, for those who can't bear to leave without a momento!
Ramps are available at all stations for disabled passengers, so if you have
a sleeping baby and don't want to fold up your buggy, do ask for assistance.
