This gallery was voted the top free
visitor attraction in Scotland in 2004 by VisitScotland. The gallery
is home to an impressive collection of painting and sculpture in elegant
surroundings. Work is on display by Botticelli, Rembrandt, Monet and
Van Gogh to name but a few. The gallery also houses a collection of
Scottish art. Don't expect to see everything in one visit,
particularly with small children. Facilities for families are good,
with lifts assisting access for those with pushchairs. Note that back
carriers are not permitted in the galleries, but pushchairs are available to
borrow. If you need a break from soaking up the culture, visit the
cafe for refreshments. |
