This large museum and its next-door
neighbour, the Royal Museum, house a vast range of exhibits, tracing the
history from Scotland's early inhabitants through to the twentieth century.
Visit the discovery centre on the 3rd floor, for a range of hands-on
activities for children - and in the industrial section there are plenty of
buttons to press to get the wheels moving on model steam engines etc.
Drinks and light meals are available in the cafe in the Royal museum which
you can walk through to from the Museum of Scotland - or treat yourselves to
a more formal meal at the smart and stylish Tower Restaurant, where you can
enjoy a magnificent view of Edinburgh Castle. |
