The slate caverns make a fascinating day out
for children, offering them an insight into how miners lived and worked
years ago. There is a choice of two underground tours - the Deep Mine
tour takes you below ground on the steepest passenger railway in Britain -
or take the Miners' Tramway tour through the man-made caves. [Note
that the tour trains are small and do not have pushchair access - but other
areas are pushchair-accessible.] You can also visit the Victorian
village, and get some "Victorian" coins to spend in the shops and pub.
There is a choice of places to eat. |
