Argyll is the birthplace of the Scottish nation and one of the largest counties of Scotland. It begins at the outer limits of Glasgow, with part of Scotland’s first National Park – Loch Lomond and The Trossachs. It finishes at the most westerly point of the UK. The scenery is dramatic with the mountains of Glencoe and 26 inhabitated islands which can be reached by ferry from one the longest coastlines in Britain, in fact longer than that of France. It also boasts picturesque towns such as Oban and Dunoon. Argyll is the perfect place to take the children to explore castles, spot wildlife and see highland gatherings.
