Enjoy a family day out at Deep Sea World in North Queensferry, just a few miles outside Edinburgh. One of the big attractions is the underwater tunnel, where you can get up really close to some large sharks - with the comfort of a layer of thick acrylic between you and them! As you'd expect, there are many different species of fish, from catfish to piranha. You'll also find many other creatures here - the Amazing Amphibians area houses, amongst other things, some of the worlds' deadliest frogs - the golden arrow frog. These frogs are being bred successfully at Deep Sea World - proof of how close to nature is the environment created here. If you're looking for really adorable animals, go to see the seals - some are resident whilst others are just visitors, - the latter having been rescued and brought to the centre for care and treatment with the aim of being returned to the wild eventually. The cafe serves light meals, snacks and children's lunch boxes.
