Description:

Chester Zoo is a wonderful place for all the family to visit, with great facilities for those with babies and young children.  There are over 400 types of animals to see, from elephants to zebras, giraffes to orang utans.  Visit the reptile house to see snakes, frogs and crocodiles.  The penguins are always popular with children - there are windows in the pool area, so you can even see them swimming underwater.  Other activities to enjoy at the zoo are the train, water bus and pot-painting (additional charges). Probably the most popular attraction at the moment will be the baby elephant, born in January 2011.
There are several cafes to choose from, or take a picnic.  There's an indoor picnic area for when the weather's not so good.

Allow a full day for a visit here - even then you'll probably find you won't have time to see and do everything!  If you live locally, it's definitely worth considering getting a season ticket.
