Description:

This magnificent house and estate has been home to many generations of the Howard family over the last 300 years. It is known to many because of its use in the BBC adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited. There is lots to see and do here so allow a whole day if possible to really make the most of it. For many children the adventure playground will be the favourite part of the visit, but a tour of the house can also be fun if you get little ones to spot interesting or unusual objects (a children's trail is available to help with this). The grounds are extensive, but if you don't wish to walk far, you can make use of the free Kelly car trailer rides to reach the house and the adventure playground. Before you leave you can enjoy a browse around the rather nice shops which include a farm shop, book shop and glass-blowing studio amongst other things. Pushchairs are not allowed in the house, but hip-seats are available to borrow for toddlers up to 3 years old. Wheelchair users can access most of the house, using the wheelchair lift.
