Description:
This is one of the world's oldest zoos, set right in the heart of Bristol.  It is home to all sorts of creatures, from gorillas to geckos, lions to lemurs.  The zoo is quite compact, at 12 acres, but the animal enclosures are well-landscape and spacious, whilst affording visitors optimum oppprtunities for seeing the animals. A real delight is seeing the penguins and seals swim underwater - you can watch through the glass as they swim right next to you.

Allow at least half a day for your visit.

There's a weekly parent & toddler group for mums who have zoo membership.

Due to its city centre location, parking for the zoo is limited to two fairly small car parks, so you may need to find alternative parking or use public transport, if you are arriving later in the day.

We love: the zoo's focus on education and conservation.
