Description: Young children are sure to enjoy a trip to the Brecon Mountain Railway, where steam engines pull observation coaches through the beautiful Brecon countryside.  Your journey starts at Pant station, where you can also see the engine workshops.  The train takes you alongside the Taf Fechan Reservoir and you can get off the train at Dol-Y-Gaer Station to make use of the children's play area and the lakeside cafe, which serves drinks, ice-creams and sandwiches.  You could also take a walk from here, and catch a later train back, or if 20 minutes is enough for you here, you can return on the same train.  Light meals, cakes and other refreshments are available at the tea-rooms at Pant, or take a short walk to the picnic area.  Baby-changing facilities are provided at this station.
