Description:

The Blists Hill Victorian Town is a living museum which gives a real insight into how our predecessors lived in Victorian times.  If you have older children learning about Victorian history, this is the place to bring them.  There are so many things to see, including working shops, e.g. the baker (where you can buy freshly baked bread) and the draper, where you can see bonnets etc. being made.  You will find many skilled craftspeople in the town, producing all sorts from rocking horses to wrought iron items.  The bank will exchange sterling for "Victorian" coins specially produced for the town, and these can be spent in many of the shops within Blists Hill and at the Victorian-style fairground.  Meals are served at the New Inn pub and at the Forest Glen Refreshment Pavilion (the latter has a children's menu).
Allow plenty of time for a visit here, as there is lots to see.  If time permits, you could also visit one of the other museums in Ironbridge - there are ten in total!  If you plan to visit more than one of the museums at any time, make sure you buy a passport ticket, which allows you to visit all of the museums - with no expiry date (until you've seen them all).
