The British Museum houses a treasure of
objects for children to explore. Open since 1753, it is one of the great
museums of the world. There are lost empires and ancient wonders
to discover - Egyptian Mummies, Assyrian lions and even the chance to count
the number of triangles in the huge Great Court (grown-ups shouldn't try -
you will be there all day).
There is an excellent leaflet designed for youngsters; "Visiting with Children".
This provides a range of activities, with suggestions for what to see depending
on how much time you have to spare at the museum.
