Previously a dairy farm, Stoneywish has been transformed in recent years to
a lovely nature reserve right by the South Downs. There are still some
farm animals to see, including goats, pigs, sheep and chickens, and there is
a lovely shaker-style herb-garden. Within the nature reserve you may see all sorts
of creatures - particularly birds and waterfowl; there are paths through the
wildlife areas. The children's play areas are delightful, with the emphasis
on wood and other natural materials for the unusual climbing frames etc.
You are welcome to picnic in the grounds, or try the tea-room, where you can
take in the views of the South Downs while enjoying lunch or light
refreshments.
