This vast museum will keep children amused for hours.
The museum is divided into distinct areas, including the Power Hall, the Air
& Space Hall and the Station Building. You may want to spend quite a
while in each building - this is the sort of place where you could easily
spend a day. If you have less time, it might be best to visit just one
or two of the buildings and see the others another day. In the main
building there is a dedicated hands-on area, which caters for children of all ages,
from tiny tots up. You will also find some hands-on items on display
in other parts of the museum. Enthusiasts run steam trains at weekends
- a real delight for any toddler. Enjoy a meal in the Loft Restaurant
or a snack in the Recharge Cafe - or when the weather is kind, take a
picnic.
