This might not seem like the obvious
place to take young children - but actually the aircraft are fascinating for
even little ones, and the war element need not be dwelt on for the very
young. There is a huge amount to see here, with a whole range of
different museums within the complex, and for school-age children this is a
great opportunity for learning some history in a really interesting way.
The amazing AirSpace exhibition houses examples of some of the most
significant developments in the history of aeroplanes - including Concorde,
which is accessible to the public. The American Air Museum displays
aircraft from the second world war, as a tribute Americans who served during
that time.
There are many special events through
the year, including impressive air shows - visit the website for full
details.
